Joe Sinclair completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1984 at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. His major was Psychology with an emphasis on Childhood and Adolescence Development and Counseling. Joe completed his Masters of Divinity Degree with Christian Education in 1998 at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Studies included counseling, youth ministry, children's ministry, education ministry, and Christian School Administration. Joe has been involved in Youth Ministry since his college days. He spent five years with Household Financial Services before entering the ministry full time in January 1990. In addition to serving in the local church, Joe serves as a Student/Youth Resource Specialist for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, facilitating leadership training for student leaders in the areas of Bible Study, Discipleship, and Planning. Joe has also written Youth Bible Study materials for LifeWay Christian Resources. Joe was the 2001 Recipient of the Outstanding Young Religious Education Leader Award, presented by the Baptist Association of Christian Educators for his contributions to Youth Ministry. Joe joined the staff at Aversboro Road Baptist Church on May 1, 2000 as Minister to Students (Junior High, High School, and College). In addition, he coordinates our Multimedia and Technology Ministries at Aversboro. Joe and his wife Selena have been married since 1984 and have 3 children Melissa, Jennifer, and Jacob.

Rev. Doug Pedigo, Minister of Music

Doug, a native of Virginia, completed a Bachelor of Music in Applied Organ in 1981 at Carson-Newman College. Following graduation he spent a year in Lakeland Florida doing music projects for a local congregation and working for the Florida Baptist Children’s Home. After moving back to Tennessee, he spent the next three years working for Randall Dyer and Associates, Pipe Organ Builders and Music House Keyboards as Sales and Sheet Music Manager. In 1984, Doug relocated to Virginia where he met his wife, Cindy. They were married in 1985 and worked in banking. Doug enrolled at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988 and completed a Masters in Church Music in 1990. Since that time, the Pedigos have served churches in North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, before moving back to North Carolina and joining the ARBC staff in September of 2008. Doug and Cindy have one child, Emmaline, who is a student at Carson-Newman University.

Dr. Chuck Register, Interim Teaching Pastor
Chuck Register has been employed by the BSCNC as executive leader of the Church Planting and Missions Partnerships Group since 2009. Chuck oversees Church Planting, Associational Partnerships, Great Commission Partnerships and Collegiate Partnerships
Chuck served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Gulfport, Miss. Chuck served four years as director of The Landrum P. Leavell II Center for Evangelism and Church Growth at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served at New Orleans Seminary as associate professor of evangelism.
Chuck is excited to serve here at Aversboro during this time of transition as our Interim Teaching Pastor and would like to get to know you as we grow in our faith together! Chuck and his wife, Charlene have one son, Chip(married to Amber), and one daughter, Christina.
